ADRIENNE NADEAU

Adrienne Nadeau (AKA: The Chantress) was born with ink running through her veins and it is rumored that her first words were poetry. In June 2004 she went to her first spoken word show and hasn’t gotten off the stage since. Now, you can find her as a regular performer at many diverse poetry venues around Tampa, including Black on Black Rhyme and Resurrection at the Lobbey. Adrienne has been honored as a feature at several events, including Say What? A Spoken Word Event, Miss UT International Competition, Zhi Phi Beta Beauty Pageant, Phi Beta Sigma Valentine’s Day Show, Tampa Museum of Art “Art After Dark”, Gecko Fest, Resurrection’s Erotic Poetry Night and has won many slams and competitions including the annual Quilt Poetry Slam two years in a row, University of Tampa’s Apollo Night and Bombshell Gallery’s Poetry Slam. It’s obvious that this vivacious 22 year old has turned her passion for writing into a full time obsession. Her debut CD Pure Poetry dropped in March 2006 and contains 40 minutes of her most powerful pieces. She uses her creative talents to explore her religious background, speak about women’s rights and vent about her ex boyfriends. The Chantress is a powerful, moving poet who is excited to see what happens when she follows her creative gifts and moves to the rhythm of spoken word.
