A native of Dayton, Ohio, and a devout fallen away catholic, Jim Dwyer has competed 5 times at the national poetry slam and has performed his stuff at slam venues across the country...in Seatle, in 2001, he finished 7th in the individual portion of the national slam competition...he moved to St. Petersburg in 2005. He's grateful that on many occasions he hasn't gotten what he deserved...
